snow derby installation
=======================

snow derby is a Perl script.
You'll need Perl and a webserver that runs cgi-scripts.

1. Decide in which directory the snowderby-script shall run.

2. Determine the full URL to the script.

3. EDIT the snowderbyfile, and change the URL and domainname in the
beginning. The absolute URL should reflect the URL in (2).
The domain name is the hostname part of the URL in (2). It is used
for directing the cookies to the right hostname. snowderby rewrites
cookies for the 3rd-party-server to be sent to the snowderby host.
Therefore it has to know the domain name it should rewrite to.

4. Do
		chmod 511 snowderby
to make it executable, and readable only by you.

5. Copy the 'snowderby'-file to your cgi-bin-directory.

6. You may have to rename it to snowderby.cgi or snowderby.pl depending on
   your httpd-settings.

Surf to the script. If it's executed and you get the snow derby URL-form,
then it works. If not, then check your httpd error log for configuration
problems.

As the script does open an outgoing connection, it depends on the fact that
the script can make this connection. It may be blocked in the firewall.

At some ISP:s a script like this might not be liked. Be sure you check with
your provider or system administrator before you install this script.
Especially if you are not sure of if this is allowed or not.

YMMV.

Good Luck.
